April 8-12
The last term is well underway.

10-English
Students need to choose a new novel for their last essay.  This essay will be about the major theme of the novel, and its minor themes. The essay is Due by May 8th.  If students read 10 pages a night, they will have enough time to finish the novel and complete the essay on time.  Some class time will be given for the reading of the novel, so students should bring it to class each day.
In class, we are reading the play Twelfth Night. Students are acting out the scenes each day, and writing in their journals.  The journals will become part of their reading and writing grades for the term.  An assignment on the Globe Theatre is now past due.  Some students still need to pass this into Mr. Griffin.

11-2/3 History

Students are working their way through the 19th century in Europe.  This week we shall be looking at 1850-1900.  Students are developing notes on this period, then discussing the era in class.  This covers the Crimean War, and unification of Italy and Germany.  As well, we shall be examining Great Britain under Queen Victoria. Finally in the end of the week, we shall examine life in the Victorian Age, and what led up to 1880's.  Students have notes for this period, and vocabulary on terms and people of the eras.  There is a quiz on line for practise on the era 1815-1850, and another will be up by week's end on 1850-1880.  A test will be given next week on Tuesday.
